Toyota Prius Design And Technology

http://carmagazineroadtests.blogspot.com/

Prius is a series-parallel hybrid car or power-split, sometimes also referred to as a hybrid mix, as driven by fuel and electricity. Reduced wind resistance with the design comeback and air drag coefficient of just 0.25. Lower-rolling resistance tires are used to reduce friction with the road. Electric water pump is used to replace a serpentine belt (serpentine belts).  In the United States and Canada, this car is also equipped with a vacuum flask that point to keep the hot coolant when the car is turned off. Vacuum flasks are useful to reduce engine warm-up time. Toyota NZ engine used Prius uses the Atkinson rounds more efficient than the Otto engine. Gasoline engine off when the car stops and multiple devices (including air conditioning) driven using batteries. Machinery used to move the vehicle and also charge the battery. Because the electric motor providing extra power for faster acceleration, given the small size of the car engine to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions with acceptable acceleration.

Electric mode

When the car is first turned on, the car can be directly executed immediately by using the electric motor, while electric heat pump with the engine coolant heat that have been stored previously. The time required from the combustion engine powering the car through the turns on approximately 7 seconds. A button "EV" meaning "Electric Vehicle" or Power Mode will turn on when the vehicle is not driven more than 40 km / h (25 mi / h). The noise level is very low if the car is being used in the electric mode. The car was not going to consume fuel at all for a distance of less than 1 mile (1.6 km). Cars will return to normal mode if the battery runs out the contents.

Battery

Cycle Battery
After 10 years marketed in the United States, in February 2011 Consumer Reports magazine conducted a study of the condition of the Prius battery and the cost of replacement. The magazine did testing for a 2002 Toyota Prius output by 200,000 odometer miles (± 320,000 km). They then compare it to a 2001 Prius odometer output of 2,000 miles (3,200 km ±) that they test 10 years earlier. The results show that the results are only slight differences between them. 2001 Prius has an efficiency of 40.6 miles per gallon US (5.79 L / 100 km; 48.8 mpg-imp) and a 2002 Prius has an efficiency of 40.4 miles per gallon US (5.82 L / 100 km; 48.5 mpg-imp). The magazine concluded that the effectiveness of the battery was reduced even though the car has traveled a long distance.  The cost of replacing the battery ranges from 2,200 to 2,600 Prius dollars at Toyota dealers. One study showed that renews the battery of used batteries can be an option for consumers.
