BMW headquarters in Munich, Germany BMW started its business after the restructuring of the company aircraft engine manufacturer Rapp Motorenwerke 1917 End of World War I in 1918, BMW was forced to cease aircraft engine manufacture because of the Treaty of Versailles. The company switched to producing motorcycles in 1923 after the agreement began to be relaxed, and began producing cars in 1928/29. In 1992, BMW acquired the company industrial design studio DesignworksUSA in California, and acquired full-year 1995 In 1994, BMW bought the British automaker Rover Group (at which time there is a brand Rover, Land Rover and MG brands as well as the right to which are no longer produced the Austin and Morris) and have it for 6 years.
